Questlove, Black Thought, and the rest of The Roots gang are back on How I Got Over ($9), the hip-hop troupe’s ninth studio album. With a title that references the gospel song of the same name, How I Got Over isn’t overly spiritual, but does find the band — many of whom are heading into their 40s — reflecting on the events of the past few years with the help of a slew of guests, including the Monsters of Folk, John Legend, and Joanna Newsom, resulting in a tight, 42-minute affair that’s solid and listenable from start to finish.
