There’s something about those sneakers Marty McFly gets in Back to the Future II, the ones that can lace themselves up, that people just love. And with the year of the “future” from that movie coming up pretty soon in 2015, the pressure is on to make them a reality. But while you wait, now you have the option to own the originals.

Yes, Marty’s Nike’s used in the movie are about to go up for auction. Sure, they don’t actually lace themselves up, and they’re expected to go for between $12,000 and $15,000, but they’re as close as you’re gonna get to the sneakers of your dreams. At least until 2015.
